OTV 10: VMware Snapshot operation times out

  • vVol (Virtual Volumes)

Issue

When performing a Virtual Machine (VM) snapshot on a VM that resides in a vVol datastore the following issue is seen:

  • First snapshot operation times out
  • Subsequent snapshot operations (if performed within a few minutes of the first failed snapshot operation) are successful


A review of the ONTAP audit logs show the following long running REST API call:
