ONTAP Tools: When changing Application user credentials a 401 Unauthorized error is seen

Issue

ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere 10.x (OTV10) uses the "Application" user for:

  • Registering VASA Provider to vCenter
  • Configuring the SRA (Storage Replication Adapter) for VMware Site Recovery Manager

To reset the Application user credentials, you can log into the ONTAP Tools Manager interface at https://<otv_ip>:8443/virtualization/ui and navigate to the Settings menu.

However defect COTV-3540 may cause the password reset attempt to fail with the following error "401 UNAUTHORIZED" MalformedInputException error:
