Description

When viewing the NetApp ONTAP Tools > Storage Systems panel, you may notice several Unknown storage systems present.  Additionally, when you try to Add Storage System you will see the following errors:

  • An error occurred while adding Storage System. An unspecified error occurred when connecting to the controller
  • An communication between ONTAP tools plug-in and the storage system should be mutually authenticated.

The main issue is adding the storage system X.X.X.X. You can gather a VSC support bundle and look for the following errors in the vsc.log:

[2024-03-07T16:30:35,648Z] [qtp1972772630-19] [ WARN] invokeZAPI(0): failed OntapConnectionImpl{ipAddress=X.X.X.X, userName=admin, port=443, ssl=true} (IOException): readHandshakeRecord null
