ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere: "Unable to find valid certification path to requested target" when adding storage in OTV 9.12 and 9.13

Issue

When trying to add a storage system in OTV 9.12 and higher, the following "unable to find valid certification path to requested target" error is seen:

This occurs when:

  • ONTAP is using a CA (certificate authority) signed certificate.  
  • The certificate chain for the CA has been imported into OTV's nvpf.keystore
