Applies to

  • Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) 9.12 and higher
  • ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) 9.12 and higher
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
  • VMware Cloud Foundation Mode (VCF)

Description

A SRM Shared Recovery Site Configuration consists of  multiple SRM instances connecting to the same vCenter instance.

In a SRM Shared Recovery Site Configuration:

  • Each SRM server needs to have a dedicated SRA instance (1:1 relationship between SRM and SRA)

  • You can accomplish this by configuring OTV in VCF mode to act as a dedicated SRA instance for each SRM server
  • You can also have a non-SRA enabled OTV appliance deployed that is registered with vCenter and used for non-SRA tasks such as datastore provisioning

NOTE: Adding storage controller with Direct SVM LIF is not supported for OTV VCF appliance, only Cluster Management Lif is used in the swagger utility. Reach out to NetApp Support if using Direct SVM Lifs.
