Why is ‘Thin-Provisioned Volume Space At Risk’ event in UM seen with volume provisioned capacity being a short percentage of the available space of the host aggregate?
Applies to
- Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM)
- Thin provisioned volumes with auto grow enabled
Answer
- The aggregate is overcommited and
- Available Capacity of the Aggregate / Max(Volumes growth rate) is less than 7 days.
Additional Information
- The event is triggered for all thin provisioned volumes of the aggregate, that have not crossed the nearly full threshold.
- Unified Manager expects that the aggregate will become full within 7 days, if the growth rate for the volumes in the aggregate is high.
