Answer

The reason behind an increase in IOPS and throughput in a SAN/NAS environment is that the host is requesting it. This scenario must be investigated from the perspective of the host accessing the volume.

Additional Information

For NAS workload, the statistics command helps to get top client contributing to the high IOPS
