What does subsequent releases mean in Fixed in Version
Applies to
- ONTAP
Answer
- The "Fixed in Version" section of a bug public report may show something similar to:
- 9.14.1RC1 and all subsequent releases.
- 9.13.1P6 to 9.13.1P8
- 9.12.1P8 to 9.12.1P12
- 9.11.1P13 to 9.11.1P15
- The text "all subsequent releases" indicates this is the latest version at the time of bug fix release, and all following major releases and their P patches will contain the fix. In this example, this indicates all GA and P releases of 9.14.1, 9.15.1, 9.16.1 and so on will include the fix.
- Furthermore, engineering may backport a bug fix to P patch releases of previous major releases of ONTAP as shown by:
Note: In this example, 9.13.1P6 to 9.13.1P8 was released chronologically later than 9.14.1RC1 and included the fix. Backporting to a major ONTAP release earlier than 9.11.1 was determined uneccessary or, architecturally, not possible.
