SMHV scheduled backup fails when "-scid" parameter is present

Issue
- SMHV scheduled backup fails by
Input Not Valid
- Application event log on SMHV hosts indicates the following error

An error occured while executing SnapManager backup job.
Job: new-backup -ds <DATASOURCE> -pid <POLICY> -h <HOSTNAME> -scid <SCID>
Details: An error occured while invoking the powershell cmdlet.
Input Not Valid, An Exception occurred while validating Input.
Details : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
- SMHV GUI error message:
Failed to take backup of VM <vm_name> as SnapDrive for Windows is unable to enumerate the following component(s)
SMHVPSSnapIn.log
indicates error:
<TIMESTAMP>: ProcessID= <PID> ThreadID= <TID> Input Not Valid ..Invalid input parameters
<TIMESTAMP>: ProcessID= <PID> ThreadID= 1 An error occured while invoking the powershell cmdlet.
