Description

This article describes how to manually restore a single item with SMBR(Single Mailbox Recovery)

In some situations, SMBR cannot mount the snapshots to restore a single item. This can happen, for example, in a multi-domain configuration as SMBR does not support authentication across domains and when you want to restore from a snapvault snapshot. That is because at this stage, SMBR does not support single item restore from a Snap Vault backup. Although this is mentioned in the documentation.

Note: This includes Snap Vault secondary storage system configurations

SMBR, it is not able to get enough information from NetApp to actually implement the calls to the secondary storage in order to retrieve the backups to be automatically loaded into SMBR using SnapCenter using the Open Snapshot selection from the File drop down menu.
