OCI DWH: MySQL crashes with exception 0x80000003 due to a vulnerability scanner

Issue

  • MySQL regularly crashes
  • The error in the mysql error log is:

<date> UTC - mysqld got exception 0x80000003 ;
Most likely, you have hit a bug, but this error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.

  • In the mysql error log you notice a large amount of failed connectivity attempts:

<date> 1084 [Warning] [MY-010055] [Server] IP address <ip> could not be resolved: No such host is known. 
<date> 1173 [Warning] [MY-010055] [Server] IP address <ip> could not be resolved: No such host is known. 
<date> 1217 [Warning] [MY-010055] [Server] IP address <ip> could not be resolved: No such host is known. 
<date> 1261 [Warning] [MY-010058] [Server] Hostname <hostname>
