"Host connection and power state" Message When Compute Node Has Crashed

Applies to

  • NetApp HCI
  • VMware vCenter Server 6.7 or 7.0
  • VMware ESXi 6.7 or 7.0

Issue

  • VMware alarm in NetApp SolidFire Active IQ:
    • Alert Name: Host connection and power state
    • Description: Default alarm to monitor host connection and power state
  • Issue coincides with a VMware ESXi host (HCI compute node) that is down due to a system crash.
    • The host will be flagged as "Not Responding" in vCenter Server.
