Description

This procedure applies to NetApp H610S storage nodes.

Turn the power off and on safely for NetApp H610S nodes during any scenario that requires a full power cycle and power drain.

Follow these steps if an H610S node in your storage cluster needs a complete power disconnect and reconnect. This procedure applies to NetApp HCI storage clusters as well as standalone Element storage clusters. The power reset process takes approximately 1 hour per H610S node to complete.

Before you begin:
  • Using the Element web UI, identify and record the node IDs of each H610S storage node.
  • If you are performing the upgrade and shutdowns remotely, ensure that you have an assistant in the data center that can unplug each H610S node, or that you can remotely remove power from the nodes.
  • Suppress the cluster in ActiveIQ to avoid creating AutoSupport cases for each 'nodeOffline' event.
