Answer

For resources in Cloud Insights that have triggered an alert and consistently remain in a state that exceeds the thresholds defined in the monitor's configuration, the resulting alert will expire exactly 7 days after being triggered and then will be recreated immediately. This will result in both a "Resolved" and "Critical/Warning" email notification each week for these described resources.

To prevent this behavior make one of the following adjustments:

  • Exclude any resources you don’t want to be notified about that you know will remain above the monitor’s threshold.
  • Adjust the threshold in the monitor so it isn’t triggered by those resources’ normal levels.
  • Adjust the resource so they no longer exceed the monitor’s thresholds (e.g. increase the total capacity of a volume).

This is expected behavior. See the Additional Information section for a link to the documentation describing this.
