BlueXP cannot initialize backup for a specific volume

Issue

One or more of the Following operations fails:
  • Initialize Backup
  • Protect multiple volumes
  • Protect or Unprotect a Datastore Volume (DS).
  • Listing snapshots for a given volume.

 

  1. When trying to retrieve snapshots, the following error appears:

The  system could not connect to the server because of network issues. Wait for some time and then refresh the browser.

  1. When trying to unprotect the Datastore Volume (DS), it fails with:

unauthorized error.

  1. When retrying to protect the DS, the following error appears in the BlueXP autosupport logs:

Volume is already protected

  1. When trying to remove any sign of the existing SnapMirorr relationship the following error may appear:

Transfer did not start because the relationship is quiesced.

  1. When trying to protect the VM DS using a new Policy, it may fail with the error from the BlueXP autosupport logs:

Volume [XYZ] is already protected with another policy [Policy1]
