System reports single path under multi path cabling configuration using IOM6 and IOM12 modules

  • Supported IOM6 / IOM12  stack mixing 

Issue

  • System reports Single-Path when cabled for Multi-Path.
  • IOM6 and IOM12 are mixed in the same stack. 
    • Verify compatibility: HWU . Go to Storage Limits > Full Storage Limit Matrix >Supported Shelves/Drives
  • If the cabling is not correct the system might trigger an EMS message similar to:

[Node-01: nchmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = IOM12ToIOM6SquarePortConnection_Alert , Alerting Resource = 1234567..... raised by monitor node-connect
[Node-01: nchmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = MixOfIOMAandIOMBConnection_Alert , Alerting Resource = 1234567.....:2 raised by monitor node-connect
[Node-01: nchmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SinglePathToDiskShelf_Alert , Alerting Resource = 1234567..... raised by monitor node-connect

 

  • The port where the IOM6 Square port is connected to will be disabled:
