- This article describes the process to upgrade E-Series SANtricity OS or controller firmware in StorageGRID appliances. The table below describes the E-Series controllers in each StorageGRID appliance model:

- While the E-Series storage controllers in StorageGRID appliances use standard E-Series firmware, they do have special NVSRAM (non-volatile static random-access memory). The special NVSRAM MUST be loaded when upgrading the E-Series firmware.
