What is the proper way to shut down an ONTAP Select node?

Answer

Although "Shut Down guest OS" from vSphere is also considered a graceful shutdown, the recommended way to properly shutdown an ONTAP Select node is to perform the “system node halt” command.

Steps
1. Sign in to the ONTAP command line interface and halt the node.
2. Using VMware vSphere, confirm that the ONTAP Select virtual machine is powered off.
