ifconfig does not work after cf takeover, ethernet interface(s) down on taken over node

Issue

Check Active IQ if this impacts your systems

  • Ethernet interfaces do not come up after a cluster takeover event and ifconfig cannot be used to bring up interface on taken over node partner shell.
  • Using ifconfig via the partner shell on the active node gives the following output:

filer2/filer1> ifconfig e0a `hostname`-e0a netmask 255.255.255.0 trusted -wins partner e0a
ifconfig: e0a: no such interface
filer2/filer1> Thu Sep 2 09:46:53 EDT [filer2/filer1: net.ifconfig.noPartner:error]: ifconfig: e0a cannot be configured: Address does not match any partner interface
.

  • The problem interface(s) do not show up via the partner shell when issuing ifconfig -a
