Description

There are two operation modes to NetApp's Data ONTAP OS. When a storage system is shipped from the factory, the Data ONTAP mode is set according to the sales order.

Sometimes, it becomes necessary to convert a storage system DATA ONTAP operation mode from clustered Data ONTAP to Data ONTAP 7-Mode.

This article describes the procedure to convert the storage system from clustered Data ONTAP to Data ONTAP 7-Mode.

This procedure is disruptive and will wipe clean all assign Disks.

Warning: To prevent data loss, it is wise the save all data outside this system scope.

Note: After this procedure, you might also need to revert the Data ONTAP version to an earlier version using the revert_to command. You might also need to convert your licenses.
