Adding a CIFS preferred-DC fails with "RPC Error" in ONTAP

Issue

  • The cifs domain preferred-dc add command fails with either of the following two errors:
    • RPC failure "Socket is not connected" occured during the CIFS preferred-dc configuration validation for Vserver "irv_svm16_netapp_admin" with domain "development.enterprise.sscims.com". Wait a few minutes, and then try the command again
    • RPC failure "No such file or directory" occured during the CIFS preferred-dc configuration validation for Vserver "irv_svm16_netapp_admin" with domain "development.enterprise.sscims.com". Wait a few minutes, and then try the command again
  • Secd reports the error: RESULT_ERROR_SECD_RPC_LIBRARY_ERROR:6902
