Can we change the node name when the node is part of a cluster?

Answer

Yes. Changing the node name of a storage node is possible when it is part of the cluster.

Follow the steps:

  1. Go to https://<MIP>:442/ (node management IP)
  2. Go to tab Cluster settings
  3. On Hostname type the desired new hostname
  4. Click on Apply Changes
  5. Go to the management virtual IP (MVIP) and confirm that hostname has been changed

Additional Information

  • According to the test result, there is no business impact.
  • The event API Call(SetClusterConfig) will be recorded on Cluster Web UI > Reporting > Event log for every node rename operation.
