Issue

When utilizing Cloud Volumes ONTAP(CVO) with Cloud Manager, there may be a need for the cluster to perform a disk reconstruction due to a disk failure in the cloud.

During this reconstruction, it is possible that the process must restart entirely and the level-0 data rebuild begins again, wasting valuable time and leaving the system in a degraded state. When this happens, you will notice the resync percent drop from a higher number, back down to 0%.

For example (from a 'sysconfig -r' output):

  • Aug 2nd:

Plex /aggr1/plex1 (online, normal, resyncing 72% completed, pool1)

RAID group /aggr1/plex1/rg0 (level-0 resync in progress, advanced_zoned checksums)

  • Aug 3rd:

Plex /aggr1/plex1 (online, normal, resyncing 1% completed, pool1)

RAID group /aggr1/plex1/rg0 (level-0 resync in progress, advanced_zoned checksums)
