Tiering doesn't work on volumes with tiering-policy "all" and AWS object storage
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- FabricPool
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Issue
All aggregates have an object store attached and available:
::*> storage aggregate object-store show -fields aggregate, object-store-name, object-store-availability, tiering-fullness-threshold, license-used-percent
aggregate object-store-name object-store-availability license-used-percent tiering-fullness-threshold
------------ ----------------- ------------------------- -------------------- --------------------------
aggr_01 S3Bucket available - 30%
aggr_02 S3Bucket available - 30%
aggr_03 S3Bucket available - 30%
But all the data resides in the performance tier and nothing is tiered to the capacity tier:
::> volume show-footprint -vserver vserver1 -volume vol1
Volume : vol1
Feature Used Used%
-------------------------------- ---------------- -----
Volume Data Footprint 9. 36TB 11%
Footprint in Performance Tier 9. 43TB 101%
Flexible Volume Metadata 57. 4GB 0%
Deduplication 53. 0GB 0%
Delayed Frees 76. 6GB 0%
Total 9. 54TB 11%
