Issue

  • Plain text volume exists in a NAE aggregate
  • Creating a volume on a newly created NAE aggr results in volume showing as encrypted but without a key-id
::> vol show -aggregate aggr_SSD_1 -fields key-id,encryption-state,encryption-type,encrypt
vserver      volume           encryption-type encrypt encryption-state key-id
------------ ---------------- --------------- ------- ---------------- ------
nas_svm_AITC nas_svm_root_m11 aggregate       true    full

  • Creating a volume on a newly-created NAE aggregate returns the following failure:
::> vol create -vserver san_svm_1 -volume test -aggregate aggr_SSD_1 -size 1g -state online
[Job 31179] Job is queued: Create test.

Error: command failed: [Job 31179] Job failed: Failed to create the volume on node "node_4". Reason: The encryption metadata for the volume is inconsistent.
