Autosupports stopped working after ONTAP upgrade or reboot

Issue

  • Autosupports worked fine before, but they are no longer working after latest ONTAP upgrade, takeover/giveback, or system reboot:
 Autosupport transmission-failed since Update Ontap from v9.9.1P9 to V9.12.1


Status: failed
             Detail: HTTP/S PUT connectivity check failed for destination:

             https://support.netapp.com/put/AsupPut/. Error: Could
                     not resolve host - 'support.netapp.com'

Status: failed
             Detail: SMTP connectivity check failed for destination:
                     Some.Secondary.DNS. Error: Could 
                     not resolve host - 'Some.Secondary.DNS'
  Corrective Action: Check the hostname of the SMTP server
 
  • Unable to resolve DNS:
CLUSTER-01::> dns check -vserver VS-01
