Unable to delete vserver peer due to decommissioned cluster

Issue

• Attempts to delete an old vserver peer relationship belonging to a decommissioned cluster are failing with error:

Error: Deleting a Vserver peer relationship between vserver_name and vserver_name2 completed unsuccessfully: Relationship is in use by SnapMirror in peer cluster. Use the "snapmirror delete" command to delete the application, then retry the command.

  • Or
Error "Unable to delete peer relationship. Reason:SVM peering relationships exist with the cluster. 
Delete the SVM peering relationships to proceed.
 
• EMS-LOG-FILE.GZ will log an entry like the below example:  
Thu Apr 01 13:29:38 -0500 [xxxxxxx-xx: mgwd: mgmtgwd.jobmgr.jobcomplete.failure:info]: Job "'vserver peer delete'"
[id 23084] (Deleting a Vserver peer relationship between lvs1.example.com and pvs1.example.com )completed unsuccessfully:
Relationship is in use by SnapMirror in peer cluster. 
Use the "snapmirror delete"​​​​​command to delete the application, then retry the command. (1263361)
