Issue

Unable to upgrade ONTAP version

Upgrade fails with the below error

"Sun May 14 03:53:43 +0700 [NODE: upgrademgr: upgrademgr.update.pausedErr:error]: The automated update of the cluster has been paused due to the following reason:  Node "MUM": Error: {Volumes are found to be not online after the upgrade.}, Action: {Check for volumes not online in the cluster..}.
Sun May 14 03:53:43 +0700 [Node: notifyd: callhome.andu.pausederr:alert]: params: {'epoch': '0f5a1f06-2a62-44f1-ac51-35bb7f368424', 'subject': 'AUTOMATED NDU PAUSED'}"

Bring the DP volume online however it shows in inconsistent state.

When the DR (destination) volume for SnapMirror is lost due to aggregate failure or other reason, the SnapMirror relationship may still exist and must be removed.

  • In this circumstance, the SnapMirror delete command may be unsuccessful.
  • Manual removal of the relationship may be necessary if SnapMirror delete fails.
  • The snapmirror release command, applied to the source cluster, should still succeed.
