Why Snaplock chain of custody verification is too slow

Due to 7-mode restriction the snaplock chain of custody fingerprint verification process is sequential. It means that for every single file a verification is happening sequentially.
For instance, if the verification is taking 500ms  per file for 100 million files it could take 578 days.
