Applies to
- ONTAP 9.11 or newer
- SAN
Issue
- System Manager displays
partially connected
for igroup and portset.
Example:
- Alert details identify LIF with the current initiator connection.
the initiator is not logged in to any network interface in portset
Example:
Ems log
show:
Partially connected Initiator 'xxxxxxxxxxxxx' is not logged in to any network interfaces on node "node1"
- Initiators seem to be logged in to only one of the nodes.
Example:
igroup show -instance -vserver v1 -igroup ig1
Vserver Name: v1
Igroup Name: ig1
Protocol: fcp
OS Type: vmware
Portset Binding Igroup: -
Initiators:21:00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (node1) (not logged in)
21:00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (node2) ( logged in)
- LIFs and corresponding ports hosting the lifs are up and online on both the Nodes on storage end.
-
Host login events(
scsitarget.fct.portLogin)
from affected host logged in on storageEMS
, which means the host/switch rebooted. -
However, post that there are missing login events logged from the same wwpn, indicating that the host could not establish connection back to storage post reboot of the host.
