Description

This article describes on how to limit iSCSI initiator access to target portals.

iSCSI initiators might use the SendTargets command to discover all target portals on a target controller. The list of target portals in the SendTargets response will include network interfaces on the target controller that have the iSCSI service enabled. Often the SendTargets response will include portals for which the initiator has no IP connectivity. Certain iSCSI initiators may experience errors while attempting to access target portals on unavailable IP networks. Attempting to access inaccessible target portals may also result in I/O timeouts for the host operating system.
