Issue

  • After FC switch Replacement of online ONTAP node LIF may experience PLOGI / FLOGI failure
  • Adapter port status errors:

::> fcp adapter show -node node-01 -adapter 3c
  (network fcp adapter show)

Error: show failed: Timeout while getting fabric information

  • Zoning information is not available:

::> net fcp zone show -node node-01 -adapter 3c
  (network fcp zone show)

Warning: Unable to list entries for kernel on node "node-01": Fabric query operation timed out or was rejected.
Error: show failed: Fabric query operation timed out or was rejected

  • ::> event log show indicates PLOGI failure after (switch and/or host adapter) port bounce

DEBUG         scsitarget.slifct.wqeError: FC port 3c has a WQE processing failure of type SLI_ELS_REQ, command PLOGI, subtype x0, with status of 3 and an extended status x8 for NPIV port 0.

  • Power values of storage SFP and switch SFP on the link are in healthy range
  • FOS command # nsshow -r indicates for LIFs:
    • NPIV Unknown as Device Type
    • SCR: none / also indicated by 0x00000000
    • no FC4s/FC4 Feature entry
