Error - Abort Command issued from host

Applies to

  • ONTAP OS: 7mode or Clustered Data ONTAP (Any) 
  • Protocol: FCP and iSCSI 
  • Host OS: Any

Issue

  • While reviewing host logs, one or more "Aborted Commands" or "Aborted I/O" messages appear. While the exact message may vary depending on the host operating system and the HBA model/driver, the errors will generally look like the following:
  • Disabling a port with errors or takeover resolves the host errors and performance returns to normal
