Many TCP Resets on port 2049 after ONTAP upgrade

Issue

  • EMS shows many Nblade.nfsConnResetAndClose event after upgrading  ONTAP to 9.11.1 or a later version
Nblade.nfsConnResetAndClose: Shutting down connection with the client. Vserver ID is 3; network data
protocol is NFS, Rpc Xid 0x0; client IP address:port is 192.168.4.5:57415. local IP address is 192.168.5.5; reason is Idle
Timeout, closing connection.
  • The NFS server option allow-idle-connection-timeout or allow-idle-connection is enabled after the upgrade. It was disabled before

cluster::*> nfs show -vserver svm1 -fields allow-idle-connection 
vserver allow-idle-connection-timeout

  • The NFSv4.1 implementation ID shows an ONTAP version before ONTAP 9.5.
