Description

ESX host does not see NFS export from the Storage System

The most common cause is that the NFS option "root=" or "rw="was not set to the VMkernel port IP address.

Other causes:

  • NFS is not licensed.    
  • Other NFS export options are not set properly.   
  • Volume does not exist.

This article describes the procedure that should be followed to mount an NFS export to a VMware ESX server. The VMware requires 'root' mount permissions.
