Issue

  • Cannot mount SMB share in RHEL Linux client after upgrade from 9.10.1P6 to 9.12.1P2.
  • You are able to see shares from Windows Client but not from Linux.
  • Mounting SMB share hang in RHEL Client although SMB version 1, 2 and 3 are enabled from NetApp Storage Side.
  • Error you see in RHEL Client when trying to mount is:
kernel: No Dialectspecified on mount. default has changed to a more secure dialect, SMB 2.1 or later (e.g. SMB3), from CIFS (SMB1).
To use the less secure SMB1 dialect to access old servers which do not support SMB3 (or SMB2.1) specify ver=1.0 on mount
