Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Cluster with hard drives on at least one node or aggregate (FAS or Cloud Volumes ONTAP with HDD disks)
  • NFS

Issue

  • One volume may see latency in the Network Processing despite no clear reason why
  • A busy volume which uses the same node with the LIF (Network layer node, or N-Blade) but is on a different node for the disks has a disk bottleneck
    • Theoretically this could also be caused by a CPU bottleneck especially on AFF
