Applies to
- ONTAP Select Deploy (OTS Deploy)
- ONTAP Select VM's (OTS)
- VMware vSphere
- Virtual Machine (VM)
Answer
- The ONTAP Select Deploy instance cannot be deleted, once deleted the OTS cluster needs to be re-deployed
- The ONTAP Select VM's cannot be modified outside of ONTAP Select Deploy. In this scenario OTS deploy is not in-sync anymore and there is a risk that the full OTS cluster needs to be re-deployed
- Live Storage vMotion is not supported
- Virtual Machine snapshots are not supported
- ONTAP Select VM's should be excluded from a third party backup solution
- A manual cluster refresh should be done regularly from OTS Deploy - at this point in time that does not happen automatically
- VMware DRS is supported, but a refresh should be performed in OTS deploy once the VM is located on a different host - at this point in time that does not happen automatically
