How to secure an ATTO FibreBridge in ONTAP 9.5 and later

Description

  • Starting in ONTAP 9.5 in-band management of the ATTO 7500N / 7600N FibreBridge is supported.
  • It is recommended to secure the bridge (disable ethernet configuration) if in-band management is used. Extensive network traffic might have impact on the availability or performance of the ATTO FibreBridge.
  • This allows the bridge to be managed over FC from the Ontap CLI, functionality includes:
    • Configuration changes
    • Bridge firmware updates
    • Data collection
    • Bridge reboot
