No route to host error seen when pinging from Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2

  • Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2 cluster switch

Issue

  • Management network connection is working correctly and the cluster switches are responding to ping and SSH requests
  • However when running ping command to any IP address including the switch's own IP address from the switches the following error is seen
sw1# ping 10.10.10.10
PING 10.10.10.10 (10.10.10.10): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto 10.10.10.10
64 chars, No route to host
