Issue

When restoring snapshots of Windows disks using the SolidFire VSS Provider on Windows Server 2019, disk-related issues are encountered in Windows, such as:

  • drive letter mappings are incorrect
  • drives are in a read-only state
  • drives are missing
  • drives aren't created properly

At the same time:

  • the Windows application logs show MSSQL errors (unable to reuse session <x>, which has been reset for connection pooling')
  • the associated CreateSnapshot and RollbackToSnapshot events succeed when viewed in the Element UI events tab
  • multiple disks appear in Disk Management, but are showing as offline:

These issues are not seen on VSS Provider on Windows Server 2012.
