Data validation error on E-Series storage array during firmware upgrade

Issue

During the pre-upgrade check, SANtricity reports one or more of the following error messages:

  • Data validation error: The storage array cannot be upgraded, as one or more host entries in Controller A did not match with those of Controller B.
  • The storage array cannot be upgraded, as the host port type representation in Controller A did not match with those of Controller B. Contact a technical support representative to resolve this issue.
  • [check spm database] An error occurred while checking the spm database on controller A.
  • [check internal data validity] Data validation error: You cannot upgrade the storage array until the problem is resolved. Contact your technical support representative to resolve this issue.
