iSCSI host setup fails on E-Series array with Login Failure error

Issue

  • New Linux host setup fails to connect to E-Series array using iSCSI. The iSCSI login fails due to "Login response timeout".
  • The complete error message displayed in the host side application was:
Execute Host Command: Command error: iscsiadm --mode discovery --type sendtargets --portal 10.XX.XX.XX.XX: XXXX --op new: iscsiadm: Login response timeout. Waited 30 seconds and did not ger response PDU. iscsiadm: discovery login to 10.XX.XX.XX failed, giving up 2 iscsiadm: Could not perform SendTargets discovery: encountered non-retryable iSCSI login failure: 19
