  • NetApp ONTAP
  • OpenStack

Answer

From OpenStack point of view, its possible to migrate from any vendor to other.  In cinder, we have “retype” that essentially does this.

If you are looking at purely from OpenStack point of view, it is possible. Say, you have a cinder volume from SolidFire, and you can migrate that to ONTAP.

Similarly, say you have a cinder volume from ONTAP, and you can migrate that to SolidFiire. The operation “cinder retype” helps you to do that.
