ONTAP Select cluster deployment results in 'NodeNotPingable' error message

  • ONTAP Select (OTS) 9.8P11, 9.9.1P7, 9.10.1P1 and earlier releases

Issue

  • New deployment fails with:
 
NodeNotPingable: Not all nodes in cluster "clustername" responding to pings on node management IP. Check the networking configuration of the host, including VLAN IDs, gateway, etc.
 
  • Before the Error message above was displayed in Deploy > Events, the nodes were created in vCenter and web consoles displayed Panic:
 
The operating system has halted.
