  • ONTAP Select (OTS)

Issue

  • After restoring ONTAP Select Deploy VM from a backup/snapshot, users are unable to access the Deploy utility via GUI or CLI.
  • The following is observed:
    • Login attempts fail with Authentication failed or Deploy API service is unavailable (seen in the VMware console or SSH/CLI).
    • Example log output:

Deploy API service is currently not available. (Press Ctrl-C to continue to the shell)
Authentication Failed. Please verify Username and Password.

    • Cluster refresh fails, license information is missing or incorrect, and capacity expansion is blocked.
    • Attempts to add or refresh vCenter/host associations in Deploy result in errors or stale inventory.
    • License lock errors: License Lock ID mismatch after VM restore/clone, causing new or existing licenses to be invalid.
