Issue

Customers planning to migrate ONTAP Select (OTS) instances from a VMware vCenter environment licensed with Enterprise Plus to a new vCenter environment using a Standard license need confirmation if OTS supports this and what considerations apply.

Example environment/context:

  • OTS instance running on ESXi  hosts, managed by vCenter with Enterprise Plus license
  • Plan to downgrade vCenter Enterprise plus to Standard license
  • OTS virtual ports groups (internal/intercluster, external/data, mgmt) currently configured using VMware Distributed Switch (DVS)
