Issue

  • During an automated ONTAP upgrade, the process paused with the following alert and error messages (EMS.log):
upgrademgr.update.pausedErr:error]: The automated update of the cluster has been paused due to the following reason:
callhome.andu.pausederr:alert]: params: {'subject': 'AUTOMATED NDU PAUSED ON NODE: MUM'}
  • At the same time, a data volume reached a critical capacity level:
monitor.volume.full:alert:Volume "volname" is full (using or reserving 99% of space).
  • We can observe high latency/throttling :
dev.driver.throttling:notice]: mpt driver unit 3 throttling I/O requests due to long latency
intr: ems.engine.suppressed:debug]: Event 'dev.driver.throttling'.
device.latency.threshold:notice]: The device latency in microseconds exceeded the threshold value for device "xx" The threshold is "25000", execution latency is "64009"
