ONTAP Deploy fails to delete decommissioned ONTAP Select Cluster

  • ONTAP Select clusters managed via VMware ESXi/vCenter
  • ONTAP Select Deploy Web UI and CLI

Issue

  • When attempting to delete unused ONTAP Select clusters from the ONTAP Select Deploy Web UI, the following error is displayed:
Failed to delete cluster "clustername. If the cluster has been reconfigured outside of ONTAP Select Deploy, run a refresh operation on the cluster, and then try the operation again.
  • The affected clusters have no node serial numbers detected in Deploy.
  • The corresponding ONTAP Select VMs are powered off and/or unreachable via management IP.
  • The “Refresh Cluster” option is not available in the Web UI for these clusters.
  • Attempts to delete via the Web UI fail consistently.
