Applies to

  • ONTAP Select Deploy (OTS Deploy)
  • ONTAP Select VM's (OTS)
  • VMware vSphere
  • Virtual Machine (VM)

Answer

  • The ONTAP Select Deploy instance cannot be deleted, once deleted the OTS cluster needs to be re-deployed
  • The ONTAP Select VM's cannot be modified outside of ONTAP Select Deploy. In this scenario OTS deploy is not in-sync anymore and there is a risk that the full OTS cluster needs to be re-deployed
  • Live Storage vMotion is not supported
  • Virtual Machine snapshots are not supported
  • ONTAP Select VM's should be excluded from a third party backup solution
  • A manual cluster refresh should be done regularly from OTS Deploy - at this point in time that does not happen automatically
  • VMware DRS is supported, but a refresh should be performed in OTS deploy once the VM is located on a different host - at this point in time that does not happen automatically
